St. Joseph Center is formerly the St. Joseph Regional Elementary School which was founded in 1922 and closed in June 2020. The school has a long history of excellence in education here in Hammonton.
The Center is currently home to Little Cubs Preschool, Carmel Children’s House Montessori School, Religious Education, and our Marketing Department. The Center includes multipurpose rooms which provide space for a variety of spiritual, recreational, arts and cultural classes and enrichment activities. In addition to the schools, the Center boasts a full-size gymnasium, playground, full kitchen, cafeteria, library, 22 classrooms, several offices, and a chapel.
The Center's mission is to empower families and youth, and to provide a welcoming space where the community can gather to build relationships, develop skills, and expand their interests. Programs currently offered at the Center include cooking classes for adults and children, Italian and Spanish language classes, youth sports programs, including soccer for toddlers, seasonal wreath making, and a variety of other programs scheduled for the upcoming year.
Our full-size gymnasium is utilized for many functions, including school events, concerts, presentations and much more. The stage is extremely large and equipped with lighting, curtains, and so much more.
Little Cubs Preschool 2022 Graduation was held in the gym, as well as many of their school plays and concerts.
The gym is also home to youth sports training. Basketball and soccer clinics are held throughout the year.
